Description of Event: The phenomenon of violence is increasing day by day in Cyprus, as it is everywhere in the world, and the number of people exposed to violence is increasing exponentially. Considering not only the physical but also the psychological, economic and social dimensions of violence, it is an undeniable fact that there is a big problem in the invisible part of the iceberg rather than the visible. In particular, LGBTI+s, who are exposed to marginalization in society, are further affected and damaged by this violence as a vulnerable group. The aim of this activity is to draw attention to this issue and to enable young people to reflect their own views about invisible violence against LGBTI+s. Thematic discussion event will held with collaboration of Nicosia Youth Association and Queer Cyprus Association.
The event will take place on 26.01.2023, at Queer Cyprus Association premises between 18.00 – 20.00.
The discussion language will be in Turkish and English language and support will be provided to those who have difficulties expressing themselves.
