(Nicosia, 16/09/19)The Launch Event and Exhibition of the LIFE Project that aims to ensure that the LGBTI+ are in freedom from exploitation in the northern part of Cyprus will be organised on 20 September 2019 at Bandabulya Stage.
LGBTI+ In Freedom from Exploitation (LIFE) Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by Queer Cyprus Association in partnership with KAOS GL. The LIFE Project aims to ensure that lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans, intersex and plus are not subjected to exploitation in the northern part of Cyprus. The launch event and exhibition of the Project will take place at Bandabulya Stage in Uray Street, Nicosia, on Friday, 20 September 2019, from 19:00 to 21:00.
The “LGBTI+ in freedom from Exploitation (LIFE) Project” started in May 2019 and will last for two and a half years. The main project activities include: mapping the situation of LGBTI+ sex workers in the northern part of Cyprus; information sessions for Queer Cyprus Association members and allies; expert focus group meeting in Turkey; advocacy for a coordinated response on LGBTI+ victims; training sessions for ‘solidarity line’ volunteers; peer worker-to-worker outreach activities; mapping existing social services and providing social welfare services to LGBTI+ victims, potential victims of trafficking and those at risk.
The launch event is open to anyone who is interested.
