(Nicosia, 9.04.2020) The LGBTI+ in Freedom from Exploitation LIFE Project is funded by the European Union under the “Together Against Trafficking in Human Beings” Grant Scheme and implemented by Queer Cyprus Association in cooperation with KAOS-GL. Within the scope of the LIFE Project, a webinar on social work for Queer Cyprus members and Queer Cyprus solidarity line volunteers was held. The webinar took place online on Wednesday, 9th of April.
The social work webinar, was given by the LGBTI+ in Freedom from Exploitation, LIFE Project’s social work specialist Güney Tosun. The webinar, which took place between 17:00 and 19:00, was held with the participation of Queer Cyprus members and volunteers of the Queer Cyprus solidarity line. In the seminar, theoretical knowledge in the field of social work was shared and detailed information about the process of social work was conveyed. In the last session of the webinar, a discussion took place about LGBTI+ case studies on social work and the importance of social work for LGBTI+’s. The webinar aimed at increasing the capacity of the Queer Cyprus Association solidarity line volunteers and members in the field of social work, as well as providing timely support and guidance to applicants who reach the solidarity line. The webinar was successfully completed and ended with the presenting of electronic certificates to the participants.
