The closing ceremony of the “Coordinated Measures and Mechanisms Against Human Trafficking (COMMIT)” project took place which is funded by the European Union and run by the Refugee Rights Association (MHD) in cooperation with the Cyprus Turkish Bar Association, the Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association, the Turkish Cypriot Human Rights Foundation, the Queer Cyprus Association, the Nicosia Turkish Municipality and the Famagusta Youth Center Association with the contribution of SOS Children’s Village.
Many important steps have been taken in this challenging fight against human trafficking for 2 years in terms of law amendments, awareness-raising activities, advocacy visits, the establishment of an effective control mechanism in cooperation with NGOs and local institutions, and creating an action and strategy plan in the fight against human trafficking. We would like to thank everyone who cooperated and supported the project, especially the project coordinators on behalf of Refugee Rights Association.
We announce to everyone that we will continue our work against Human Trafficking as the Human Rights Platform as of September.
